Hans Friedrich von Knoch

Hans Friedrich von Knoch (born March 21, 1603 in Sollnitz , Anhalt; † May 12, 1660 in Senftenberg , Lausitz) was a member of the Fruit Bringing Society .

Life

Knoch is the son of Joachim Ernst von Knoch and his wife Anna Margaretha List .

After only a simple school education by private tutors, Knoch is sent to relatives as a page. At the first suitable opportunity, he switches to the military and becomes a soldier. In a short time Knoch advanced to lieutenant colonel. On March 1, 1637 , he married the daughter of Hans Fabian von Ponickau , Anna Sabina von Ponikau .

On April 16, 1639 appointed commander of the 2nd Electoral Saxon body regiment. Six years later, in 1645, he was promoted to colonel. The Saxon Elector awarded Knoch the dignity of chamberlain.

Just one year later, he was accepted by the Fruitful Society . Knoch is listed under number 453 in the Koethen company register. As a company name he is given the best . His motto is Zur Fortzucht and as an emblem you can find the sponge called Morel ( Morchella esculenta L. or Morchella conica Fr. or Morchella elata Fr. ). Knoch thanks for the admission into this society with the following rhyme law:

The morels are sponges and of the best kind,
As you can find them in the woods in summer,
they are good for breeding, I have never spared myself
Rather, I always looked for the best; therefore well founded
The best I can be called: Who now
disappears on this journey is without fruit and breeding of the same species,
His name goes out: therefore move away diligently
The best so you are blessed here and there.

Hans Friedrich von Knoch died at the age of 57 on May 12, 1660 in Senftenberg in Lusatia.
