Hans Funk (local history researcher)

Hans Funk (born April 6, 1936 in Delitzsch ) is a German homeland researcher and publicist .

Life

Hans Funk completed an apprenticeship as a specialist salesperson for photo optics in Delitzsch and made a career in 1950 as a division manager in the trade organization . He later studied economics at the Trade Institute of Karl Marx University in Leipzig . From 1981 to 1990 he was the economic director of the forest hospital in Bad Düben and has been in retirement since 1996. Since then he has devoted himself even more to his two hobbies: numismatics and home history . Bad Düben has been the center of his work and life for over 50 years. Here he started a family and always immersed himself in the history of this region with great devotion. His hobbies are minting , collecting historical postcards and postmarks as well as local research . He was also involved in building the museum at Düben Castle on the side of the founder Willy Winkler .

Works

Since 1965 he has written hundreds of articles in regional as well as national newspapers, brochures and books, his own books, for example about the history of the savings banks in the former district of Delitzsch and the city of Bad Düben. There were also portraits of artists and specialist articles on emergency money . Before the fall of the Wall , Hans Funk was involved in the Kulturbund, then in the Bad Düben home association. He is also a founding and honorary member of the Dübener Heide association, and headed the association's magazine for many years. After the fall of the Wall he wrote for a while for the local supplement of the Leipziger Volkszeitung .
