Hans Ganten

Hans Ganten (born September 26, 1937 in Bremerhaven ) is a German lawyer and building lawyer .

Life

Hans Ganten, a grandson of Johann Ganten , who founded the Bremerhaven Bürgerpark , studied law at the Philipps University of Marburg and the Westphalian Wilhelms University , Münster. In 1968 he was in Bremen as a lawyer at the official and the Bremen Regional Court admitted. In 1972 he was admitted to the bar at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Bremen and in 1973 he became a notary .

In 1984 he was appointed honorary professor for construction law at the University of Bremen . From 1999 to 2006 he was chairman of the 1st procurement chamber in the state of Bremen.

Hans Ganten has been the head of the seminar and lecture series "Building Law Working Group Bremen" since 1983. For the first four years (until 2006) he was a managing member of the “Netzwerk-Bauanwälte” (network construction lawyers) as a nationwide association of law firms oriented towards building law. He has also been involved in local politics in his place of residence, Worpswede , for many years . He is a founding member of the Independent Voting Association Worpswedes. He was from 1996 to 2001 and has been a member of the local council and chairman of the cultural committee of the council since 2006 and a member of the Worpswede local council from 1991 to 1996 and 2001 to 2006. He has also been chairman of the Worpswede Foundation since 1991.

He is responsible for the jurisprudence section of the journal Der Bausachverektiven , which is published by the Fraunhofer IRB Verlag Stuttgart, Fraunhofer Information Center for Space and Building (IRB) and the Bundesanzeiger Verlagsgesellschaft mbH.

Honors

In 2004, Hans Ganten was the first attorney to be awarded the "German Construction Law Prize" from the German Association for Construction Law. Previously, only university professors and high judges were awarded this prize. In 2007 he was awarded the “Civil Engineering Law Prize 2007” by the Center for German and International Building Site and Civil Engineering Law (CBTR). In the same year, Hans Ganten was honored by colleagues and friends with a commemorative publication (“Legal Handbook of Holistic Building”, Wiesbaden 2007).
