Hans Griem (engineer)

Hans Griem (born July 11, 1898 in Krembz ; † December 25, 1980 in Darmstadt ) was President of the Central Telecommunications Office in Darmstadt from 1960 to 1963 .

Life

Griem studied electrical engineering at the TH Munich from 1921 to 1925 . Then he started as a postal trainee in Stettin in 1926 at the Deutsche Reichspost. In 1929 he passed the post-graduate examination. He was appointed post councilor in 1931. In 1934 he became head of the Telegraph Construction Office in Hamburg-Harburg , and a year later he was appointed to the Reich Ministry of Post to work on the television cable routes from Berlin via Leipzig to Munich and from Berlin to Hamburg. The promotion to Oberpostrat took place in 1938. The management of the German Remote cable company (DFKG) he took over in 1939. For Ministerialrat he became the 1,942th After the Second World War he continued to run the DFKG in the British zone of occupation . In 1947 he was transferred to the Post and Telecommunications Central Office in Bad Salzuflen . Two years later he became department head for telecommunications at the OPD Cologne , in the same year, until 1954, he was a consultant for telecommunications construction and long-distance cables in the main administration for the postal and telecommunications system and later in the Federal Post Office. From 1954 to 1959 he was President of the OPD Hanover . On January 1, 1960, he was appointed President of the Central Telecommunications Office, which he held until he retired on August 1, 1963.
