Udo Mlecek

Udo Mlecek (born August 17, 1937 in Wanne-Eickel ; † June 1, 2012 in Hanover ) was a German engineer , publisher and head of the Central Telecommunications Office (FTZ) and vice-president of the Darmstadt Research and Technology Center .

Life

Mlecek studied at RWTH Aachen University and at the University of Hanover , where he obtained his engineering degree in 1968. Then he became head of the telecommunications office in Bochum and then in Hanover. He took part in the professors' conference "Telecommunications in the Sign of Microelectronics" in 1987 at the FTZ under State Secretary Dr. jur. Winfried Florian ( Federal Post Office ) took part. There he was head of the research institute of the Deutsche Bundespost at the FTZ and later deputy to Ronald Dingeldey . On March 1, 1991, he also took over the management of the office, but was not appointed president due to the upcoming privatization. After the transformation to the Research and Technology Center Darmstadt of Deutsche Telekom AG , he was its Vice President until he retired in 1997.

According to the tradition of the presidents of the FTZ, he was also the editor of the specialist journal Der Fernmelde-Ingenieur .
