Philipp Lights

Philipp Lichter (born September 7, 1796 in Maring-Noviand , † October 17, 1870 in Piesport ) was a German Catholic clergyman, definitor and writer.

Life

After graduating from high school in Trier, he studied philosophy and theology at the local seminary . Ordained a priest in Metz in 1819 , he studied philology in Münster and Bonn from 1821 . His activity as chaplain in Bernkastel was followed by the appointment of pastor in Sehlem (Eifel) from 1824 and in Piesport in 1834 , where he worked until the end of his life.

Lichter was a knight of the Red Eagle Order, 4th class .
