Hans Haider (journalist)

Hans Haider (born March 10, 1946 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian cultural journalist and author .

Life

Hans Haider studied theater studies and art history in Vienna. From 1972 he was secretary in the Austrian Society for Literature. 1974 - 2008 Haider was cultural editor for the daily newspaper Die Presse , theater and literary critic. He founded the Supplement Literaricum there . Between 1987 and 1989 he was department head of the supplement Spectrum , from 1992 to 2008 department head for culture. From 2004 to 2006 he was on leave and coordinated the Austrian anniversary year 2005 in the Federal Chancellery to commemorate the re-establishment of the Republic in 1945, the State Treaty in 1955 and EU accession in 1995. He was also a member of the Council for German Spelling from 2005 to 2008 Haider theater critic in the Wiener Zeitung .
