Hans Haider (Manager)

Hans Haider (born May 10, 1942 in Oberneukirchen , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian manager .

Education and career

Haider attended the Stiftsgymnasium Wilhering , where he graduated with honors in 1961 . He then began studying communications engineering at the Vienna University of Technology , which he completed in 1968 with the academic degree of Diplomingenieur . Haider also completed a degree at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business . He then worked in various management functions at Siemens AG Austria . Among other things, he was appointed chairman of the board of an independent business area with global overall business responsibility. From January 1994 to April 2004 he was Chairman of the Management Board of Verbund , today's VERBUND-AG, and from April 2004 to May 2007 in the function of General Director.

His successor is Michael Pistauer . On June 13, 2007, Hans Haider, ex-finance minister Karl-Heinz Grasser and banker Julius Meinl announced that they would join the new energy investment fund Meinl International Power , which is to finance the construction of power plants in Eastern Europe .

More functions

From 1994 to 2007 Haider was a member of the executive committee of the Association of Austrian Electricity Companies (VEÖ). From 2002 to 2005 he was also President of the Union of the Electricity Industry ( Eurelectric ) , where he has been Honorary President since then. Hans Haider has been President of the Austrian National Committee of the World Energy Council since 2003 . From the start of his work at Verbund, Haider was Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Supervisory Board in all major subsidiaries of the Verbund Group.
