Hans Heß (entrepreneur)
Hans Heß (born March 24, 1881 in Wengelsdorf , † March 6, 1957 in Wiesbaden ) was a German business leader.
Hans Hess was the son of an insurance broker from Leipzig . He went to high school and completed his law degree in 1909 with the promotion of Dr. jur. at the University of Leipzig . In 1933, Hess succeeded Kurt Schmitt at the helm of Allianz AG . Hans Hess maintained a very distant relationship with the National Socialists ; In contrast to other German managing directors, he was not a member of the NSDAP . Hans Hess concentrated on questions of microeconomics and thereby created an efficient and long-term sustainable structure for the group. His work thus laid the foundation for today's global Allianz. Hess headed the group until 1948. He was a member of the old Leipzig Landsmannschaft Afrania .
