Hans Hochapfel

Hans Hochapfel (born February 23, 1871 in Kassel , † April 27, 1930 in Stuttgart ) was a German violinist , conductor and composer .

Life

He grew up in a musical family, his father Hans was a music teacher. He received violin lessons from Otto Kaletsch in Kassel until 1890 . From 1890 to 1894 he studied in Berlin with Woldemar Bargiel and Friedrich Gernsheim . He then switched to the local music school in Libau as a music teacher . He stayed in Libau until 1928, during which time he was the conductor of the Libau Kurorchester and the Libau Liedertafel, and founded the Philharmonic Society there. In 1928 he moved to Stuttgart, where he died a short time later.
