Hans Klotz
Hans Klotz (born October 25, 1900 in Offenbach am Main , † May 11, 1987 in Cologne ) was a German church musician and organ specialist .
After graduating from high school in Frankfurt am Main in 1919 , he studied church music at the Hoch Conservatory and musicology , philosophy and education at the University of Frankfurt. After studying with Charles-Marie Widor in Paris , he received his doctorate in 1929. He was a church musician in Frankfurt am Main, at the Christ Church and the Anna Church in Aachen, where he also directed the Aachen Bach Society , and in Flensburg. In 1954 he became professor and head of the Institute for Church Music at the Cologne University of Music .
His book on the organ saw a total of 14 editions between 1938 and 2012.
Martin Weyer was one of his students .
His grave is in the Melaten cemetery in Cologne (hall 16 (A)).
