Hans Konrad Frick

Hans Konrad Frick (born July 20, 1811 in Schwellbrunn ; † January 30, 1897 in Teufen ; resident in Schönengrund ) was a Swiss dialect poet from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Hans Konrad Frick was a son of Hans Konrad Frick, farmer and home weaver . In 1838 he married Franziska Winkler. He entered into a second marriage in 1850 with Anna Rohner von Herisau. After a rudimentary school education , he worked as a farmhand in Mörschwil . In 1836 he bought a home in the Brandtobel in Teufen. Until 1895 he worked as a farmer, home weaver and sticker .

He was a popular folk poet and declamator . He recited his dialect poems , a kind of schnitzel bank in bumpy Knittel verse , on various occasions. They humorously deal with human weaknesses, actualities and their own experiences. Frick's attitude was determined by reason , morality and a moderate belief in progress .
