Hans Mönninghoff (born July 13, 1950 in Süddinker ) is a German politician of the GREEN .

Life

Mönninghoff attended secondary school in Hamm . This was followed by a two-year internship and a degree at the Siegen University with a degree in hydraulic engineering. From 1974 to 1977 he worked at the Office for Electricity and Harbor Construction in Hamburg . He then completed a postgraduate degree in land maintenance at the University of Hanover . Since 1977 he has been a member of citizens' groups against nuclear facilities. 1979 to 1986 he worked as a freelance consulting engineer in the fields of water and energy. In addition, from 1981 to 1986 he worked at the Deister Energy and Environment Center.

From 1986 to 1989 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . In 1989 he became head of the environment department of the state capital Hanover and from 1997 was also first city councilor of Hanover and deputy mayor in the administration. In 2005 he was also appointed head of the economic department. After Stephan Weil was elected Prime Minister of Lower Saxony in January 2013, Mönninghoff took over the business of the Lord Mayor as "head" of the administration of Hanover. Mönninghoff retired on July 31, 2013. His successor is Sabine Tegtmeyer-Dette .
