Hans Menardi (born February 2, 1885  in Innsbruck ; † November 24, 1955 near Mühlbachl ) was an Austrian architect .

Life

Hans Menardi studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich under August Thiersch , Carl Hocheder  and Theodor Fischer . After a brief activity as a freelance architect, he entered the service of the Tyrolean regional building authorities, whose head he later became and remained until 1954. He was a consultant to the monument office and chairman of the Heimatschutzbund. He designed numerous public buildings in Tyrol, mostly in forms of historicism or the Heimat style .

Hans Menardi died on November 24, 1955 in a traffic accident on Brennerstrasse near Mühlbachl . A memorial column with a mosaic designed by Max Weiler was erected at the site of the accident in 1958 .
