Hans Nadler was born on January 14, 1879 in Elsterwerda as the son of the seminar teacher Friedrich Nadler . After his training at the Academy in Dresden , Hans Nadler became a painter. He was a student of the landscape painter Carl Bantzer and a master student of Professor Gotthardt Kuehl . These two represented an impressionistic open-air painting. His study trips took him to the Netherlands and France, among others . For a while he worked in Munich , where painters like Max Liebermann , Wilhelm Leibl and Hans Thoma worked and impressed him. He was a plein airist . Above all, Nadler painted realistic landscapes with figures that appear rural. But his works also had impressionistic and expressionistic traits, like u. a. let the image of Diesbar be recognized. In Dresden he belonged to the artist group Die Elbier and later worked on the Academic Council , which also included Robert Sterl , who had taken over the studio of the late Gotthardt Kuehl. In 1909 Nadler was a founding member of the Dresden Artists' Association . For his services as a painter and as a patron of art, he was awarded the title of professor by the Saxon King Friedrich August in 1918 .

His personal life moved mainly between the places Val Gardena , where he had his house and studio , Elsterwerda , where he taught on Mondays and Tuesdays as an art teacher at the then high school "Elsterschloss" and Dresden . In Dresden he met like-minded people such as Otto Gussmann , Paul Rößler and the artistic director of the State Theater, Count Seebach .
