Hans Olav Tungesvik

Hans Olav Tungesvik (born May 22, 1936 in Skånevik ; † June 16, 2017 in Bergen ) was a Norwegian psychologist and politician ( Kristelig Folkeparti ) (KrF).

Life

Hans Olav Tungesvik was born in 1936 as the son of the teacher Olav Tungesvik (1879–1965) and his wife Mette Nervik (1898–1981) in Skånevik , now part of the Etne municipality .

Tungesvik studied medicine at the University of Oslo until 1964 and then worked as a doctor. He later specialized in psychology. For the Kristelig Folkeparti he was elected to Storting , where he represented his home province of Hordaland from 1977 to 1985 . Between 1965 and 1970 he was chairman of Noregs Mållag . In 2001 he was awarded the Livsvernprisen human rights prize and in 2007 he received the King's Medal of Merit in Gold.

His son is the Norwegian politician Steinulf Tungesvik (* 1965).

Tungesvik died on June 16, 2017 in a road traffic accident in Bergen at the age of 81.
