Hans Reddemann

Hans Reddemann (born March 4, 1934 in Gützkow ) is a German pediatrician in Greifswald.

Life

Hans Reddemann is the son of a teacher who came from Greifenhagen in Pomerania. He attended schools in Stettin and Pripsleben and completed an apprenticeship in carpentry from 1949 to 1952 . Then Reddemann did his Abitur at the workers and farmers faculty in Greifswald. From 1955 to 1960 he studied medicine at the University of Rostock . In 1962 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. 1962–1967 trained as a specialist in paediatrics and since 1968 senior physician, he completed his habilitation in 1972. In 1977 Reddemann became a university lecturer and in 1982 associate professor for paediatrics in Greifswald. From 1985 he headed the department of hematology and oncology at the Greifswald University Children's Clinic.

Reddemann became a member of numerous medical societies. From 1990 to 1997 he was chairman of the Greifswald Tumor Center. Since 2000, Reddemann has also been a member of the Society for Pomeranian History, Archeology and Art . On May 21, 2004 he received the Pomeranian Culture Prize . In addition to medical publications, Reddemann published papers on the history of medicine in Pomerania . He has dealt in depth with the old cemetery (Greifswald) .
