Hans Roth was born on August 19, 1913 in Erlinsbach as the son of the farmer and justice of the peace Hans Roth and Emma, ​​who was also born Roth. Roth graduated from the agricultural school in Brugg from 1929 to 1931 before working as a self-employed farmer.

In 1938 Hans Roth married Elise, the daughter of the carpenter Gottfried Gautschi. He died on February 17, 2003 six months before he would have turned 90 in Kölliken.

Political career

Hans Roth, member of the Farmers, Trade and Citizens' Party (BGB), of the Swiss People's Party (SVP) from 1971, began his political career in 1945 when he was elected to the Aargau Grand Council , which he subsequently until 1957 and from From 1961 to 1974, of which he was also President between 1967 and 1968. In addition, he served from 1951 to 1957 as Erlinsbach councilor . In addition, he sat on the National Council for the canton from 1967 to 1983 .
