Hans Rubner

Hans Rubner (born November 24, 1932 in Kiens ; † December 18, 2009 in Bruneck ) was a South Tyrolean politician.

biography

Rubner studied economics at the University of Florence and at the Vienna University for World Trade . He then worked as a high school teacher and began to get involved politically in the South Tyrolean People's Party (SVP). From 1961–1964 he represented the imprisoned Hans Stanek as SVP state secretary. From 1966 to 1973 he was director of the vocational school in Bruneck.

In 1973 Rubner was elected to the South Tyrolean Landtag on the SVP's list and at the same time was elected to the Trentino-South Tyrol Regional Council, of which he was a member until 1987. During these years he was also a member of the state government and as a state councilor for public works, fire services and civil protection in the Magnago IV , Magnago V and Magnago VI cabinets . In the 1987 parliamentary elections, Rubner was elected to the Italian Senate , where he represented the SVP until 1994. After retiring from politics, he was President of the Südtiroler Sparkasse Foundation until 2002 .
