Hans Snow
Hans Schnee (* unknown; † before March 22, 1517 ) was a gun founder .
life and work
Snow was active in Besançon and Innsbruck . On November 17, 1509 he was appointed gunsmith and caster in Burgundy by Maximilian I in Trento . This annually prescribed snow for life “100 ducats from the Roveredo customs” as maintenance and service money. In addition, he received 16 Rhenish guilders if he served with a horse and a farmhand in the war. In addition there was the payment for the casting of cans, according to the usual wages. As a royal caster he was bound to secrecy about the skills learned in the service. At that time his manufacture was in Besançon. On February 14, 1512 he was again confirmed by the emperor in his office as gunsmith and caster, with the payment now being made from the "House Chamber Office of Innsbruck". For work in the field, he and his horse were now entitled to 24 cruisers per day and a further 12 cruisers for a “servant on foot”. From now on he was obliged to settle in Innsbruck and was also awarded an interest-free hostel and workshop at the emperor's expense. In December 1512 he received treatment from the doctor Hans Graez for 30 guilders due to paralysis. On October 8th he received a foundry wage of 200 guilders. After his death, Peter Burgundier succeeded him.

- with Gertraut (who brought a certain fortune into the marriage)
- with Helena (nee Goliant), who married Franz Lynthy (or Luithy) after his death.
He had two daughters Christina and Helena.
