Hans Schrems

Hans Schrems (born January 29, 1914 in Mitterteich , Bavaria; † November 7, 1969 in Regensburg ) was a German high school professor and church musician .

Hans Schrems was born in Mitterteich and attended the boarding school of the Regensburger Domspatzen in Orleansstraße. Under the cathedral Kapellmeister Theobald Schrems - his uncle - and Georg Ratzinger , he led one of the two Domspatzen choirs. While they led the liturgical choir, Hans Schrems looked after the so-called Lassochor and was responsible for the concertante tasks.

At the music school of the Regensburger Domspatzen, Hans Schrems worked as a voice teacher and soloist repetiteur as well as a choir teacher and conductor. He conducted a large number of radio, television and record recordings with various choirs of the "Domspatzen".

On November 7, 1969, Hans Schrems drowned in the Danube after falling from the Nibelungen Bridge. He left behind his wife, Elisabeth Schrems, and their two sons, Hannes and Wolfgang Schrems.
