from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hans Singer , also Hans Johannesen Singer and Johann "Joannis" Singer (born June 17, 1688 in Götzens , † around 1740 in Axams ), was a Tyrolean plasterer .

Life

Hans Singer had been married to Gertraud Payr since January 23, 1719 and lived in Schwaz as a plasterer since 1726 . In the period that followed, the collaboration with his brother, the master builder and architect Jakob Singer (1685–1760), developed into a family business (in which the sons were involved), who initially worked as master builders and plasterers with new buildings and the baroque transformation of existing churches .

Well-known new buildings in which both brothers were involved are the parish church in Kirchbichl and in particular the Fiecht monastery as well as the Franciscan church in Schwaz (1735/36) and the parish church of St. Philipp (1733/34).

The works of the Tyrolean late baroque of Franz Singer , the son of Hans Singer, and his nephew Cassian Singer (1712–1759) achieved additional national fame .
