Hans Steinacker (born February 17, 1932 in Gronau ) is a German publicist.

Life

Hans Steinacker, who has grown up in Gelsenkirchen-Buer since he was 6 , initially trained as an industrial clerk and worked in the export departments of larger companies. In 1962 he and others founded the non-profit association Bodenseehof in Friedrichshafen , of which he also became chairman. The association runs an international youth center and is affiliated with the mission society Torchbearers International (also: Torchbearers Movement ) founded by Major W. Ian Thomas . As managing director of the CVJM Westbund Wuppertal and the association's own Aussaat Verlag, he began his journalistic work for publishers with a Christian orientation. When Saat merged with the Gladbeck publishing mission publishing house , he became the sole managing director there too. From 1981 to 1994 Steinacker managed Brendow Verlag in Moers.

Steinacker has been working as a publishing consultant and journalist since 1994. He was and is a freelancer a. at the Rheinischer Merkur , the Börsenblatt for the German book trade , the industry magazine BuchMarkt and the radio. He also works as a book author and editor with a focus on book history, spirituality, biographies and travel.

From 1984 to 2007 Hans Steinacker was chairman of the Ernst Meyer-Maack Foundation for the promotion of the Westphalian Open-Air Museum of technical art monuments in Hagen . In this function he also published the annual Hagen + Mark home book. He is u. a. Member of the Eugen-Rosenstock-Huessy Society, the German Dostojewski Society and board member of the Inklings Society for Literature and Aesthetics. On the occasion of his 80th birthday, Steinacker received the Diakonie's highest award in 2012 , the crown cross in gold.

Hans Steinacker has his residence in Witten .
