Hans Ulrich Scupin

Hans Ulrich Scupin (born April 13, 1903 in Dölau , Saalkreis , Province of Saxony ; † May 18, 1990 in Münster ) was a German teacher of constitutional law and a state philosopher.

Life

Scupin in 1929 at the Silesian Friedrich-Wilhelms University for Dr. iur. PhD . During his studies he became a member of the Heidelberg and Halle associations in the Association of German Student Associations . He completed his habilitation in 1938 as an assistant to Axel von Freytagh-Loringhoven in Breslau. In 1944 he came to the University of Posen as a professor . He protected and promoted Georg-Christoph von Unruh . The Westphalian Wilhelms University appointed him in 1952 as a professor for public law . He headed the Institute for Public Law and Politics until his retirement in 1971. He published on international law , constitutional law , police law and commercial law . In 1988 he was elected honorary chairman of the Johannes Althusius Society for his services to research on Johannes Althusius . Festschriften were published on his 70th and 80th birthday.
