Hans Volker Bolay

Hans Volker Bolay (born March 13, 1951 in Mosbach ) is a German music therapist.

Life

After graduating from high school, he studied psychology , pedagogy and school music in Heidelberg and Berlin from 1970 to 1980 and was a guest student in music therapy in Salzburg and Amersfoort . In addition to his studies, Bolay completed further training in depth psychology in Heidelberg and at the Centro Studi e Ricerche Delle Nazioni, Salsomaggiore and was a participant in psychoanalytic self-awareness groups.

In 1972 he passed the cantor examination C of the Baden regional church. In 1980, Bolay was recognized as a teaching music therapist by DGMT / DBVMT. 1984 followed the doctorate with Norbert Linke at the University of Duisburg . In 1985 he became professor for music therapy at the private SRH Hochschule Heidelberg .

From 1980 to 1983, Bolay worked as a clinical music therapist and psychotherapist in the inpatient sector (psychotherapeutic care for rehabilitants of the Heidelberg vocational support organization). From 1984 he was a teaching therapist at the music therapy outpatient clinic of the Faculty of Music Therapy at the SRH University of Applied Sciences in Heidelberg. Bolay has been authorized to practice medical psychotherapy (HeilprG) since 1987 and has his own practice for music therapy and psychotherapy . In 1999 he qualified as a child and adolescent psychotherapist and a psychological psychotherapist.

From 1977 to 1985, Bolay was the executive director of the German Society for Music Therapy . V. and from 1985 to 1989 its chairman of the board. 1979 to 1983 the establishment and development of the first state-approved course for music therapy at university level took place. From 1984 to 2010 he was dean of the Faculty of Music Therapy. In 1995 the German Center for Music Therapy Research (Viktor Dulger Institute) DZM e. V., since 1995 Bolay is managing director.

Bolay is since 1999 member of the research Gerontology of the University of Heidelberg , he was in 2002 at the founding of the Heidelberg Academy of Psychotherapy involved (HAP) for approval training and since 2002 board member.

In addition, Bolay has been a board member of the Rhineland-Palatinate Farmers and Winegrowers Association since 1995 and was a board member of the Society of Friends of the University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg from 2004 to 2007. He left college in 2010.
