Hans Karl Friedrich von Mangoldt (born May 10, 1940 in Tübingen ) is a German constitutional lawyer .

Hans von Mangoldt comes from an old Eastern noble family from Posern near Weißenfels ( Saxony-Anhalt ). He is the son of Hermann von Mangoldt (1895–1953), Professor of Law at Kiel University and a member of the Parliamentary Council, and his first wife Ingeborg Oppel (1907–1995).

Life

Hans von Mangoldt is Professor i. R. for public law and international law at the University of Tübingen and was a member of the Constitutional Court of the Free State of Saxony . In addition, he devoted himself to interdisciplinary research , u. a. he published with Volker Rittberger ( political scientist , Tübingen) on the subject of the United Nations system . Hans von Mangoldt is a member of the Association of German Constitutional Law Teachers and was active for the CDU- affiliated Konrad Adenauer Foundation . He lives in Nehren near Tübingen.

On May 26, 1998, Erich Iltgen, President of the State Parliament, awarded him the Saxon Constitutional Medal.
