Hans von Sparneck (* around 1350; † after 1417) was a knight and both court master ( magister curie ) and marshal of the burgrave Friedrich V of Nuremberg and his two sons Johann III. and Friedrich VI. He was also a bailiff in Hof .

Von Sparneck family

He came from the von Sparneck noble family and was based in Weißdorf , where he owned the moated castle there. Hans is thus a very early member of the Weißdorfer line of the family. His father and one of his sons were also named Hans. His mother's name is unknown. According to the family tree researcher Dobenck , he was married to Anna Förtsch , but the more recent research by Elisabeth Jäger assumes an additional generation with the name Hans , the bailiff of Münchberg .

Under the protection of Burgrave Friedrich of Nuremberg

The village and palace of Weißdorf, which were presumably in the allodial possession of Hans von Sparneck, was given to the burgrave of Nuremberg Friedrich V as a fief on July 20, 1374, along with all associated possessions . From then on he and his descendants received the loan letters about Weißdorf from the Nuremberg burgraves. In return, he was entrusted with various offices, including appointed as their court master. Sparneck's successor as Hofmeister was Arnold Hiltmar in 1398.

His uncle was Hans Nothaft auf Thierstein , from whom he bought a pond in Weissdorf in 1382. As the burggrave's court master, for example, he appeared as the first witness on July 28, 1397, when Engelhart Vasmann from Sachsgrün swore in Hof to the margrave Wilhelm von Meißen , the burgrave Friedrich of Nuremberg and his sons Johann and Friedrich Urfehde , because he swore without them Knowledge had negotiated secretly with King Sigismund of Hungary .
