description

In 1916, Ernst Heinkel developed the two-post biplane as a torpedo bomber for the German Navy near Hansa-Brandenburg . The basic structure consisted of wood with a fabric covering or plywood cladding. The plane had large, single-stage floats. It was propelled by two motors that were attached with struts close to the hull. Hansa-Brandenburg built 26 aircraft for the Imperial Navy .
