The Hansa-Brandenburg DD was a German reconnaissance aircraft during the First World War .
description
The Hansa-Brandenburg was a two-post biplane based on the training aircraft Hansa-Brandenburg B (company name Hansa-Brandenburg D) from 1914 with a 110 hp Benz engine. As a reconnaissance aircraft , she was equipped for the first time with two machine guns. One of them was arranged so that it could shoot forward over the upper wing and the propeller circle. The variant Hansa-Brandenburg DD even had three MG.
On September 21, 1915, the pilot Reiterer set two unofficial world altitude records by reaching an altitude of 4160 m with three passengers and 4760 m with four passengers in each hour. However, due to the war, these records were not reported. They would not have been recognized either.
