Falciano del Massico is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3492 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Caserta in Campania . The municipality is located about 33.5 kilometers west-northwest of Caserta at the foot of the 813 meter high Monte Massico and on the shores of the 90 hectare Lago di Falciano . The nature reserve Riserva naturale Lago Falciano exists around the lake .

history

In Roman times the area was in the tribe of ager falernus .

Since 1927 the station of Falciano exists with the neighboring communities Mondragone and Carinola on the railway line Roma-Formia-Napoli .

Trivia

Because of the lack of space in the Falciano cemetery, dying in the village was declared forbidden in March 2012.
