history
In Mondragone there is an archaeological museum ( Museo Civico di Mondragone ) that shows evidence of the city and its surroundings. Evidence from the epoch between the Stone Age (around 23,000 years before Christ) and the Middle Ages is kept here. The collection of objects from the Roman colony civium romanorum sinuessa forms a special part of the collection .
The city gained a certain fame beyond its region because a marble was quarried in its area , which was used to decorate the palace of Caserta .
