Arienzo is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 5381 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Caserta in Campania . The municipality is located about 14 kilometers east-southeast of Caserta . Arienzo borders directly on the province of Benevento at the Parco Regionale del Partenio .
history
The Oscar or Etruscan city of Suessola is partly located in the municipality, which was destroyed by the Saracens around 800 AD. Parts of country villas ( villae rusticae ) have been preserved from Roman antiquity .
