Rocca d'Evandro is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 3088 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Caserta in Campania . It is part of the Comunità Montana Monte Santa Croce . The municipality is located about 50 kilometers northwest of Caserta . Rocca d'Evandro borders directly on the provinces of Frosinone and Latina ( Lazio region ).

history

In Roman antiquity, this was a wine trading point ( Porto di Mola ). The towering castle of today's municipality is mentioned in a document in a cession document in July 961.

The Rocca d'Evandro train station is on the Roma – Formia – Napoli line . The Strada Statale 430 della Valle del Garigliano from San Vittore del Lazio to Cellole runs through the municipality .
