San Nicola la Strada is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 22,634 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Caserta in Campania . The place is located about two kilometers south of Caserta and about 25 kilometers northeast of Naples .

Name of the place

The name of the place is derived on the one hand from Bishop Nikolaus von Myra and the Via Appia Antica ( la strada ) leading through the municipality . Not far from here are the remains of the historic town of Calatia .
