Parete is an Italian commune ( comune ) in the province of Caserta in Campania . The municipality is located about 19 kilometers southwest of Caserta and about 16 kilometers northwest of Naples . The Tyrrhenian Sea is 12 kilometers away. The municipality borders directly on the metropolitan city of Naples .

history

In ancient times there was an Osker settlement at Paretes , on the Via Campana from Pozzuoli to Capua . The intersection with Via Antica connected the place with today's Literno (then Liternum ).

Parete later became part of the Kingdom of Naples .

Economy and Transport

Parete is known for growing fruit (especially peaches and strawberries). Aversa Aspirino is also grown on the vineyards here. Strada Statale 162 runs south of the municipality . The nearest train station is in Aversa .
