San Potito Sannitico is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1959 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Caserta in Campania . It is part of the Comunità Montana del Matese . The municipality is located about 39 kilometers north-northeast of Caserta and borders directly on the province of Benevento .

history

Numerous archaeological finds prove an early settlement. In the small village of Torelle there was an ancient villa rustica . In 1688 the parish was badly damaged by an earthquake and the church was affected.
