The Hansa-Brandenburg W was a seaplane that was used as a reconnaissance and training aircraft during the First World War .

Ernst Heinkel developed the Hansa-Brandenburg W for the sea flight competition that was to take place in Warnemünde on August 1, 1914 . However, the competition was canceled due to the start of the war. The aircraft could, however, be used as a reconnaissance aircraft. The Navy took over 27 machines, which they used as multi-purpose aircraft.
