Hansegger , also Hans Egger , born as Johann Konstantin Egger (born May 29, 1908 in St. Gallen ; † October 1, 1989 in New York City ) was a Swiss painter .
Life
Hansegger founded the Galerie des Eaux Vives in Zurich in 1942 and was a member of the artist group Allianz . There are permanent and changing exhibitions of abstract and concrete art. In the autumn of 1943, the gallery showed works by members of the alliance founded in 1937 for the first time.
The artist group, with members such as Max Bill , Walter Bodmer , Camille Graeser , John Konstantin Hansegger, Leo Leuppi , Richard Paul Lohse , Sophie Taeuber-Arp and Verena Loewensberg , was based on the Zurich School of Concrete, inspired by Max Bill .
The gallery also showed and sold works by international artists. For example in 1944 and 1945 with the highly regarded exhibitions under the name “abstract / concrete” with exhibits by Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee .
