Hansjürgen Linke

Hansjürgen Linke (born November 23, 1928 ) is a German Germanic Medievalist .

Life

He studied German, theater and art history in Cologne , English and Romance languages in Göttingen and Hamburg . After receiving his doctorate ( The Cult in Poetry by Stefan Georges and his School ) on April 15, 1955 in Cologne and his habilitation in 1966 in Gießen ( Epic Structures in Hartmann von Aue's Poetry . Investigations into criticism of form, work structure and lecture structure ), he taught at the University of Cologne from 1969 to 1994 as professor for older German language and literature.

His research areas are medieval drama, heroic epic, courtly epic, swan novel, animal poetry, fairy poetry, dance of death and European mediaeval reception in modern times.
