Harald Friese

Harald Friese (born June 2, 1945 in Badersleben ) is an SPD politician, mayor of the city of Heilbronn a. D. and Member of the Bundestag from 1998 to 2002.

Life and study

Friese left Saxony-Anhalt early , grew up in Stuttgart and graduated from high school there in 1965. In 1964 he joined the SPD. From 1965 to 1974 Friese studied law in Tübingen and Bonn. He organized himself politically in the SHB , of which he was federal manager in 1967/68. In 1974 he passed the first state examination in law (University of Bonn) and in 1977 the second state examination (judicial examination office in Düsseldorf).

Politics and profession

In 1978, Friese was a municipal legal advisor. Harald Friese ran for the SPD in the constituency of Heilbronn for the German Bundestag in 1998 , was defeated by the CDU candidate Thomas Strobl and then entered the Bundestag via the SPD state list. In 2002 he ran again for election to the German Bundestag, was again defeated by Strobl and was unable to return to parliament due to a poor position on the list.

Friese is chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the regional association Heilbronn-Franken , chairman of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund der Region Franken eV and since 2006 chairman of the Heilbronn Symphony Orchestra .

In 2015, Friese received the Ring of Honor of the City of Heilbronn .
