Harald Polster (born August 18, 1954 in Jugenheim ) is a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Hessian state parliament .

Harald Polster lives in Pfungstadt and studied business administration and graduated with a degree in administrative management.

In 2000, Polster gave up his mandate in the state parliament and moved to the marketing department of a real estate company of Deutsche Bahn AG . He then moved to "First Rail Property" as managing director. The "First Rail" acquired more than 1000 station buildings that were no longer needed. In March 2005, Polster left the company.

Today Polster is on the board of the non-profit housing cooperative Pfungstadt (GeWoBau) and the energy cooperative Darmstadt-Dieburg eG. He is one of the managing directors of SBC - Der Gebäudedienstleistungs GmbH, and managing director of Pfungstädter Eigen Energie GmbH.

Harald Polster is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany and was a member of the executive board of the SPD Hessen-Süd. He is currently chairman of the SPD Pfungstadt . For many years, Polster was parliamentary group leader of the SPD in the city ​​council of Pfungstadt . He is currently the honorary first councilor of the city of Pfungstadt.

Polster was first elected directly to the Hessian state parliament for the constituency of Darmstadt-Dieburg I in 1991 and was able to successfully defend the direct mandate in the following state elections in 1995 and 1999. On October 30, 2000, he gave up his mandate and moved to Deutsche Bahn . He was succeeded by Heike Hofmann (SPD) as a member of parliament for the constituency of Darmstadt-Dieburg I .

In 2003, Polster ran for the SPD as district administrator in the Bergstrasse district . In the district election on March 14, 2003 he was defeated by Matthias Wilkes (CDU) .
