Harald Schröder
Harald Schröder (born September 29, 1966 in Aachen ) is a German graphic artist , comic artist , animation filmmaker , storyboarder , illustrator , designer , graffiti artist and art director .
Life
After graduating from the Viktoriaschule in Aachen, Harald Schröder studied graphic design at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences from 1988 to 1993 . He has been working as a freelancer since graduating.
Work (selection)
Together with his brother Ulrich Schröder , Harald Schröder designed the cover for Mickey Mouse magazine 42/1991 on the occasion of the opening of Euro Disney in Paris . A year later he won a prize in the design arena for children's furniture competition organized by HeimatWohnen and Md Interior Design Architecture . In 1994 he created the animations for Harry Hops' PC games . From 1999 he designed a new series of comic characters for the nine-product premium range of breakfast cereals from the food company Brüggen and redesigned the packaging. From 1998 to 2018 he drew more than 200 episodes of the comic series Spacy and Sparky for the children's magazine Weite Welt der Steyler Missionare . In it, two extraterrestrial journalists (aliens) study peculiarities and quirks of people and discover their own. A selection of the one-pagers are in the comic Spacy + Sparky: We weren't published, which was published at the 2014 Comiciade in Aachen.
With a small team, Schröder designed and animated the redesign of bankruptcies, bad luck and breakdowns in 2001 . In the winter semester of 2002/2003 he then worked as a lecturer at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences, design department on the subject of post-production with after effects .
Since 2003 Schröder has made several animated films for the program Quarks as well as other explanatory films, including for the market , animals are looking for a home , West Pole . He also created a comprehensive redesign of the entire graphics for the carnival in the WDR. In addition, he designed trailers for various programs, for example for Land & Lecker , Liebe Lisa , Kabarett & Co and Der große Jecken-Check . The 2007 logo of the WDR television program Zeigler's wonderful world of football was also designed by Schröder. In 2009, the trailer for WDR: Das Wort zum Saturday , in which Schröder was involved as an animator, received the Eyes & Ears of Europe Premier Award . He also created animated graphics and special effects for several documentaries . Schröder created the trailer for the first season (2011/2012) of the Conni cartoon series (episodes 1 to 26), was art director (sometimes also storyboarder) and directed the animation. He was also the art director of the movie My Girlfriend Conni - The Secret About Kater Mau .
Schröder has been part of the founding and permanent organization team of the international comic festival COMICIADE in Aachen since 2014 and has produced the Comiciade cinema trailer for it.
Harald Schröder has two brothers, including the graphic artist Ulrich Schröder. He lives and works in Aachen.
