After graduating from the Viktoriaschule in Aachen, Ulrich Schröder began his career as a graphic designer in 1983. He then worked as a freelance commercial artist for Opel and Nesquik, among others , and designed the commercial comic Quicky and his friends .

In 1989 he moved to Paris as Art Director for Disney Publishing Worldwide . Here he worked as a graphic artist for 17 years and designed the artwork for the merchandising and promotional materials for the Disney brand . In addition to illustrations for the Disney comic books in various countries, he also drew for the French Le Journal de Mickey . Together with Daan Jippes , he designed Donald Duck short comics for newspapers and Goofy stories for the Danish Egmont publishing house .

In November 2006 Ulrich Schröder left Disney Europe and founded Studio Duckworks , where he works with numerous artists, designers and copywriters from the European Disney headquarters and, as an art director, also trains and educates Disney artists. The artist collective continues to look after numerous Disney productions on a freelance basis.

Ulrich Schröder designed numerous covers for Disney comic books, created templates for Disney characters and illustrated several Disney children's books, including Pedro the Little Airplane and Goliath in the Andes.
