Harald Siepermann

Harald Siepermann (born June 10, 1962 in Hattingen ; † February 16, 2013 in Hamburg ) was a German illustrator of comics and cartoons .

Life

After graduating from high school in Hattingen and studying at the Folkwang University of Applied Sciences in Essen , he founded a studio for storyboards in which he drew templates for films and commercials. He is best known through the comic series Alfred Jodocus Kwak (in collaboration with Herman van Veen ). In addition Siepermann has in the United States among others, the Disney -Zeichentrickfilmen Who Framed Roger Rabbit , Mulan and The Emperor's New Groove as a character designer involved. A Mecki story drawn by him , which appeared as a sequel in the program magazine Hörzu , was canceled prematurely.

Since the 1990s, Siepermann has been working increasingly as a lecturer in the field of animation at the Hamburg Animation School , the German Film School , the Games Academy , the Mainz University of Applied Sciences and the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy .

From 2010 he worked on his first directing project, the animated film The 7th Dwarf, based on a book by Bernd Eilert . The computer-animated film was created in Koregie with Boris Aljinovic for the Hamburg production company Zipfelmützenfilm by Otto Waalkes and Douglas Welbat , which has already produced two 7-dwarf real films. He died of cancer in February 2013 at the age of 50.
