description
In Hard Knocks the preseason of an annually changing NFL team is documented. The focus is on the multi-week training camp before the start of the season, which is about sifting out the 53-player squad plus the 10-player practice squad for the start of the season from the almost 100 players who are under contract on the first day of training . Recurring elements are everyday training, which makes no distinction between stars and supplementary players , the fight for the coveted squad positions, dealing with injury problems, the interaction between the many different personalities and the integration of rookies and other new players. The grief of those players who don't make it into the squad is often discussed, contrasted with the joy of those who actually make it.
