Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer

Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates (HHPA) was an American architecture firm that existed from 1967 to 2004 and was known for numerous theater buildings and cultural centers in the USA.

history

The office was founded in 1967 by Hugh Hardy , Malcolm Holzman and Norman Pfeiffer . Hardy and Holzmann had been working together since 1964, and Pfeiffer joined the office in 1965. Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer soon became the leading architectural firm for new buildings and conversions of theaters, cultural centers and concert halls in the USA. By 1999 the office had planned or built 115 such projects and employed 130 people in New York and Los Angeles.

In 2004 the partners separated. Hardy founded the H3 Hardy Collaboration Architecture office , Holzman founded the Holzman Moss Bottino Architecture office (HMBA), and Norman Pfeiffer founded the Pfeiffer Partners Architects office .

Awards

Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer received the 1981 Architecture Firm Award from the American Institute of Architects, which is considered the highest honor for architectural firms in the United States.
