Harri Jünger

Harri disciples (* 15. January 1926 in Leipzig , † 27. December 2016 ) was a German Slavist , literary critic and emeritus professors .

Life

From 1948 to 1952 Jünger studied Slavic, German and adult education at the University of Leipzig .

From 1953 to 1957 he was a doctoral student at the University in Leningrad . In 1957 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the work of AN Tolstoy in the 1920s. Until 1962 an activity at the Leipzig University followed. In 1961 he completed his habilitation in Leipzig.

From 1962 he was a professor at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . From 1963 he was a member of the International Slavist Committee and director of the Institute for Slavic Studies. From 1964 to 1967 he served as vice dean and dean of the Philosophical Faculty as well as director of the literature and art studies section and head of a research collective. In 1971 he was appointed to the Humboldt University in Berlin . There he was director of the Philologies, German Studies section and then director of the Slavic Studies section. In 1975 he received the National Prize for Scientific Achievements in the Field of Developing Russian and Soviet Literature. In 1990 he received an honorary doctorate from Moscow's Lomonosov University for research in the field of philology.

In 1990 he retired . He then emerged as a man of letters and as the author of a philosophical work.
