Côte-Nord-du-Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent is a Canadian parish on the north side of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence across from Newfoundland . It belongs to the province of Quebec . The next road ends 150 km away and so the place can only be reached by boat. There are four settlements in the parish: Chevery , Harrington Harbor, Kegaska , Tête-à-la-Baleine .

history

The place was founded in 1871 by Protestant families from Newfoundland. Today the village lives from catching crabs and mussels.

Sainte-Marie-La-Mauderne

The remote location became known worldwide as the filming location for the social comedy The Great Seduction ( La grande séduction ). The filmmaker Jean-François Pouliot used the village as the setting for Sainte-Marie-La-Mauderne , whose villagers use all their tricks and deceit to try to sell life in the village as paradise to a young doctor from the city.
