Harry Baschleben

Harry Baschleben (born December 27, 1922 in Magdeburg ; † June 10, 2012 ) was a German party functionary of the GDR block party NDPD .

Life

Baschleben belonged to the Hitler Youth . He was a member of the Waffen SS from November 15, 1940 , became SS Rottenführer in 1943 and SS Unterscharführer in 1944. On April 1, 1944, he joined the NSDAP . He was a participant in World War II and on the Eastern Front .

After the Second World War, Baschleben became a member of the National Democratic Party of Germany (NDPD) and became a full-time employee of the Potsdam district committee of this party in the GDR . He represented the NDPD from 1958 to 1963 as a member of the Potsdam district assembly . Then he was secretary of the NDPD district board and member of the city council of Gera . From 1972 he was secretary of the NDPD district executive in Gera . He graduated from the School for National Politics in Waldsieversdorf .

Harry Baschleben was the father of Klaus Baschleben . Baschleben last lived in Hahnheim and died at the age of 89.
