Harry William Parker (born September 14, 1947 in Highland , Illinois , † May 28, 2012 in Richmond , Virginia ) was an American baseball player in Major League Baseball (MLB) on the position of pitcher .

Career

Parker attended Collinsville High School and the University of Tulsa . He was selected as the 13th  pick in the 4th round of the Amateur Draft in June 1965 by the St. Louis Cardinals . Parker made his MLB debut on August 8, 1970 for the Cardinals, for whom he played until 1971.

The New York Mets recruited him for the 1973 season . This year was also Parker's most successful of his career. He had 8 wins , 4 losses, an Earned Run Average (ERA) of 3.35 and 63 strikeouts in 96 2/3 innings . Parker played his last game for the Mets on July 30, 1975.

In 1976 he played for the Cleveland Indians , but was only used for a total of seven innings in three games.

Its minor league statistics between 1965 and 1973 are 69 wins, 54 losses and an ERA of 3.31.
